in their Rehearsal location. Participants are kindly welcomed to the Castellers rehearsal location. The visit starts with the Castellers presentation, with video, power point or pictures, and the participants will be able to ask questions or share their comments. (on1&2)
Thereafter, they will join the rehearsal, enjoying the atmosphere created as the members of the “colla”(Castellers team) arrive and build the first towers. The Castellers are also known as a “Collas” wich in catalan means a group of friends. Participants are given a “faixa” (back support belt of soft fabric wrapped around the waist) and are invited to participate under the instructions of a “Casteller”.
As part of this “Basic teamwork” option, there is the possibility of a “workshop”, which involves making a “pinya” ( “pinya“is the base of the tower) with all participants lifting a team member. (By request and subject to availability).
2.- “Workshop Teamwork “.- with 2/3 Castellers (2/3 members) in their Rehearsal location.
Then the “Workshop”begins! Participants are given a “faixa”(a back support belt, made of soft fabric and wrapped around the waist), The group is organized under the supervision of Castellers experts to start creating the “pinya”(the base of the tower). What a breathtaking experience!!! I went with some friends to one of this “castellers” rehearsals. We all agreed that it was one of the most moving and impressive experiences we’d ever had. We were part of this intense and easy going big family. We were explained the details of this work of ART! the architecture that makes possible those astonishing human towers.
It was a fun and local experience. Everyone was so welcoming. This is a must do while in Spain. Muchas Gracias.
